Explore our answers to common questions about our services and resources.

What is perinatal education?
Perinatal education encompasses the support and knowledge provided to families during pregnancy and the early stages of parenting. It covers various topics, including preparing for childbirth, breastfeeding and enhancing emotional well-being during this transformative period.
How can I benefit from your services?
Our personalized approach offers tailored education and support to meet your unique needs. We provide resources like journals, audio meditations and expert guidance to empower you through your perinatal journey and enhance your parenting experience.
What makes your approach different?
At Bearing Light, we prioritize emotional well-being and parental choice, offering a non-authoritarian space. Our aim is to inform and support rather than prescribe a singular philosophy, recognizing the complexities of each family's experience.
When should I listen to the audio sessions?
Any time that feels supportive. Many people listen before sleep, during rest, after a difficult day, or when feeling anxious or overwhelmed. You can use them regularly or simply when you feel you need extra grounding.
Do I need experience with meditation?
Not at all. The sessions are gently guided and suitable for beginners as well as those already familiar with relaxation or mindfulness practices.
Are these sessions a replacement for therapy or medical care?
No. These audios are a supportive wellbeing resource and do not replace medical, psychological, or specialist care. If you have concerns about your mental or physical health, please seek support from a qualified healthcare professional.
Can I share the audios with my partner or a friend?
The recordings are yours for personal use, so you can return to them whenever you need. These are licensed for individual use only and cannot be shared, copied or distributed. If someone else would benefit, they are welcome to purchase their own access.
What if I don’t feel relaxed while listening?
That’s completely normal. Relaxation is a skill that develops over time. Simply listening and giving yourself the space to pause and observe is already beneficial. There is no “right” way to experience it.
Do these education, support sessions or audio resources provide clinical or medical advice?
No. All education sessions, support services, meditations and affirmation audios are designed to offer information, guidance and emotional wellbeing support only. They do not provide medical, psychological, or individualised clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. These services do not replace care from your midwife, GP, health visitor, therapist, or other qualified healthcare professional. If you have concerns about your physical or mental health, pregnancy, birth, or your baby’s wellbeing, you should seek support from an appropriate medical professional.
