Hello!
The Full Story
My name is Oana,
And I am a Mother.
I am also a FEDANT Registered Antenatal Educator, Breastfeeding Counsellor and Postnatal Practitioner with a Teaching Diploma in Antenatal and Postnatal Education and qualifications in Supporting a Breastfeeding Mother, Providing Emotional Support for Breastfeeding Mothers and Peer Support for Breastfeeding Mothers. You will also find me volunteering weekly in the community providing infant feeding support.
My journey into this work grew from my own experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. My two daughters arrived into very different experiences -from pregnancy through to the postnatal period- and through that contrast I came to understand how complex, individual and deeply personal the transition into parenthood can be.
As I sought information and education around babies, healthcare and parenting, I became increasingly aware of how often parents lose their voice within systems of care and, sometimes, within the wider “village” around them. I learned, both personally and professionally, how important it is for parents to be informed, supported and able to advocate for themselves and their choices.
I have always been drawn to education, coaching and supporting people to trust themselves, listen inwardly and find what works for them. Becoming a parent also showed me how little emotional and mental support many parents receive in the early stages of parenthood and how necessary that support truly is.
This is the space I now hold for others.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based information and respect for parental choice. I work alongside parents as they find what feels right for them and their family.
In my work, sessions are shaped around your questions, circumstances and pace. I offer information, reflection and support in a way that leaves space for your own knowing and experience.
